Fri Dec 31, 2004 Dining Sydney style: Check into your hotel after 2pm and for the remainder of the day you are free to relax before meeting your fellow travellers at 6pm. Tonight we are off for a walking tour of The Rocks, the historic home of Australia's European Heritage. Dinner will be some ‘Pub Grub' in one of the local Rocks hotels. You are already in one of Sydney's most lively nightspots, so you might as well check it out! Hotel (D) 2005 Sun Jan 2 Sydney - Sydney scenery: A free day to explore Sydney. If you would like to get further afield we can organize a day trip to the scenic Blue Mountains. At the Blue Mountains there is never a shortage of things to see and do. Discover the Three Sisters, explore the galleries and museums, dine at historic Highway Inns, shop for art and antiques and so much more! Or for something different take a day trip to the Hunter Valley where the first vines were planted in the mid 1800's. Enriched by sunshine, fertile soils and healthy rains the Hunter is home to famous Australian wineries such as Rosemount and Lindemans. If you are staying in Sydney maybe climb one of our most famous landmarks - the Sydney Harbour Bridge or perhaps just spend the day chilling out at the world famous Bondi Beach. Hotel (B). Mon Jan 3 Sydney to Melbourne - The city of culture: After breakfast we transfer to Kingsford Smith Airport and we're off to Melbourne - the city of shopping, restaurants and nightlife! We begin our exploration with a tour of Melbourne's highlights. See the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australian Gallery of Sport and Olympic Museum, Parliament House, the Shrine of Remembrance and Fitzroy Gardens with a tour of Captain Cook's Cottage. We'll complete the day with a tour of Carlton Breweries for a historical rendition and taste of numerous Aussie beers. After dinner why not try your luck at Crown Casino, Australia's largest Casino complex. Hotel (B,D) Tues Jan 4 - Mon Jan 10 Over to you: Today we will be exploring Melbourne at leisure. For those seeking the heart of fashion, Chapel Street will give you every opportunity to shop till you drop, or for a bargain, the bustling Queen Victoria Market on the northern fringe of the CBD. You can chill out in one of Melbourne's many fabulous cafés, visit the controversial Federation Square, or venture to the Great Ocean Road for a visit to Torquay and Bells Beach - an international surfing destination.
