Canada and the Rockies

Fri Aug 22, 2003 Seattle to Whistler via Vancouver. After leaving
Seattle, we cross the Canadian border to pick up the rest of our new friends in
Vancouver. Then we’re off to Whistler via the scenic Sea to Sky highway. We
arrive into Whistler this afternoon in time to enjoy any number of exciting
recreational activities including mountain biking, hiking and canoeing. After
your included dinner, we’ll take in the Whistler nightlife. Hotel (D).
Sat Aug 23, 2003 Whistler to Kamloops. Spend the morning in the
resort town of Whistler where you will have the opportunity to browse the shops
and cafés of Whistler/ Blackcomb Mountain. This afternoon we travel further
into British Columbia, through the Lillooet Mountain Range towards our nightstop
in Kamloops. Hotel (B,D)
Sun Aug 24, 2003 Kamloops to Jasper. Today we will drive further
into the spectacular Rocky Mountains, via the scenic Yellowhead highway. We will
drive past Moose Lake, as well as stop at the base of Mt. Robson ?the highest
point in the Canadian Rockies. We’ll also visit Maligne Canyon, the deepest
and longest limestone canyon in the Rockies. There is time to marvel at this
impressive gorge carved by generations of raging water. Hotel (B)
Mon Aug 25, 2003 Jasper. Be sure to keep your camera ready for
wildlife shots on the short drive to Maligne Lake this morning, where you will
have the opportunity to enjoy the amazing scenery. Whitewater adventure awaits
you this afternoon as there is the opportunity to take a rafting trip (optional)
on the mighty Fraser River. Hotel (D)
Tues Aug 26, 2003 Jasper to Banff. It’s non-stop beauty today as
we travel the famous Icefields Parkway, considered one of the most scenic
highways in the world. The highlight will be the ride aboard the specially
designed “snocoach" on the Athabasca Glacier! This afternoon we’ll
visit Lake Louise and make several photo stops, including the vivid blue Peyto
Lake. We arrive in Banff late this afternoon. Chalets (B,D)
Wed Aug 27, 2003 Banff at Leisure. After a visit to the world
famous Banff Springs Hotel, the rest of the day is yours to go sightseeing,
hiking, shopping, or just relaxing in the beautiful town of Banff. Tonight why
not join us for an optional horseback ride and steakfry? Chalets (B).
Thurs Aug 28, 2003 Banff at Leisure. A second full day to enjoy
everything that Banff National Park has to offer. This afternoon you have the
opportunity to take a breathtaking helicopter ride over the Rocky Mountains, a
once in a lifetime experience. Chalets (B)
Fri Aug 29, 2003 Banff to Kelowna. We bid farewell to the Rockies
today as we drive through three more national parks in a single day. Yoho,
Glacier and Mt. Revelstoke National Parks all await us as we make our way back
into British Columbia. We also drive into the Okanagen Valley - Canada’s fruit
basket, full of orchards, farmlands and vineyards. Hotel (B,D)
Sat Aug 30, 2003 Kelowna to Vancouver. Travel via the Coquihalla
and Transcanada highways today en route to the cosmopolitan city of Vancouver.
This afternoon’s sightseeing tour includes: Gastown, Chinatown, Stanley Park
and Lion’s Gate Bridge. Tonight, join us for an optional dinner cruise around
Vancouver’s beautiful harbour. Hotel
Sun Aug 31, 2003 Vancouver to Seattle. We spend the morning in
Vancouver before saying goodbye to some of your new friends in Canada. We cross
back into the United States and return to Seattle where your tour ends this
evening.
